The Parents Association essentially provides a liaison between its members, the Board of Governors, Headmaster and staff of Wembley College with the purpose of promoting friendly relations between all parties.

I have personally been involved with the Parents Association for the last four years. It is a privilege to be involved with such a pioneering endeavour such as Wembley College. It is not often that one can be part of the process of a “new school” and it is vitally important that all parties get involved to make it successful. As with any school there is always a need to raise funds, provide assistance in many ways and create the flow of communication essential to a happy environment at school.

In the past Parents Association committees have made enormous contributions in both time and effort to the various projects so necessary when establishing a school like Wembley. As a committee we raise funds which are utilised by the school wherever needs are identified. Examples of these include contributing towards bursaries, improvements to the school buildings and surrounds and participation in new projects such as “The Owl and Leopard” for parents and teachers, to name but a few.

With co-operative governance being such an important recipe for prosperity in this day and age the Parents Association is sure to remain a vital component of Wembley College in years to come, and I would like to encourage all parents who have a true interest in their children’s growth and development to get involved in any way you can and to those who do, make the Wembley “family” proud!
