About Us

Wembley College strives to ensure that pupils receive the best education through its well-qualified staff and unique curriculum, encapsulating the University of Cambridge Exams system, adapted to local needs.

The curriculum is based on a combination of traditional and innovative study techniques, founded in beliefs that education is not only an ongoing process which continues long after the child has left school, but also that a positive learning environment needs to have a strong emphasis on having fun while learning.

It is inclusive and broad, with a holistic approach to the development of the child as a confident, responsible and well-adjusted individual who has a strong appreciation for the environment.

Few can dispute the fact that the Cambridge IGCSE and HIGCSE exams that we offer up to Form 6, provides a sound academic foundation for our scholars and are a springboard to further education, as these qualifications are well-received by universities both nationally and abroad. Small numbers in the classroom enable staff to provide high levels of individual support.

To develop confidence and self-esteem, great emphasis is also placed on the emotional and social well-being of the child.

Having adopted the name of the original Wembley Farm and retaining the same farm-like feel, Wembley College is situated just outside Greytown, a mere 70 kilometres from Pietermaritzburg.

The campus is set on a sizeable property, overlooking a picturesque farming valley and a pristine lake area at the bottom. With ample scope for outdoor activities, pupils are encouraged to become involved in a host of different extra- murals, from fishing through to adventure trail mountain-biking. Additionally, the other sports and recreational facilities on offer include Swimming, Tennis, Soccer, Hockey, Cricket, Rugby, Choir, Debating and Athletics. We are fortunate to have a golf course and squash courts on our doorstep. These facilities are available at the local country club which is opposite our sport fields.

For a small school, we achieve great success on the sport’s field and can boast having had two Springbok boys in our ranks.

We are able to offer a cross-section of activities which include Entrepreneurial Arts and Culture Clubs, Classic and Folk Guitar, Ballet, Piano and Recorder lessons, Public Speaking as well as the opportunity to participate in the annual Speech and Drama.

The bulk of these activities take place in our unique Cultural Centre, a venue dedicated to the enhancement of the Arts.
